The Photo Cookbook Privacy Policy

This privacy policy outlines the information that ditter.projektagentur GmbH (“ditter”, “we”, “us” or “our”) gathers, how we use that information and the options you have to access, correct, or delete such information.

This policy applies to our collection and use of the information provided to us by users of our app “The Photo Cookbook” (“app”) and our websites at www.thephotocookbook.com and www.cuisine-visuelle.com (“website”).

Website and Download of Recipe Images

When you open a recipe in our app, high resolution images are downloaded from our website.
The website currently uses no third-party analytics. The web server logs details about each visitor, such as date and time, the first two decimal numbers of the IP address (for example IP 11.22.33.44 is stored as 11.22.0.0), browser version, and which pages were accessed. Those logs are kept for 30 days and then deleted. This information is used to see which other websites currently bring visitors to our website. The website is HTTPS-only for your privacy and security.

Cloudflare Content Delivery Network

We use a so-called “Content Delivery Network” (CDN), provided by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA.
The CDN is a system of regionally distributed servers that delivers web content and image files faster to the user. The processing of the data of the users takes place solely for the aforementioned purposes and the maintenance of the security and functionality of the CDN.
Use is made on the basis of our legitimate interest in a safe and efficient provision, analysis and optimization of our app and website.

Push Notifications and Analytics

When you first start the app, you can enable push notifications. From time to time (usually once per week), we will send you seasonal recipe suggestions and other cooking inspirations or promotions.
We use the push notification service “Batch.com”, provided by iMediapp SA, 41 rue de Prony, 75017 Paris, France.
The following information is collected when you use the app:

The language and country set on your device – to be able to send you push notifications in your language tailored to your region
Which cookbooks are unlocked/purchased, iOS version, app version, device type, mobile carrier, installation date, and your city as approximated (pseudonymized) by the lookup of your ip address in a geolocation database: Used for analysis and optimization of our app and to only send you relevant push notifications.

This data is processed in such a manner that the personal data can no longer be attributed to you. Instead, a random “installation id” is generated and the collected information (as outlined above) is stored under that id. You can find your installation id at the bottom of the app’s about/info screen.
